Hollison Journey

“The road of life twists and turns and no two directions are ever the same. Yet our lessons come from the journey, not the destination.” – Don Williams Jr

7 Quick Takes – July 30, 2010

It’s late, so I don’t know how wordy I will be…

1. Less than a week till our teen retreat! Woo! It has been super fun being on team and I know next week is going to be awesome. There are a lot of great teens involved and it has been so great watching so many of them work hard to put this on.

2. Speaking of retreats, it dawned on me the other day that I am not “off” a retreat until Nov. 15. I have Teen ACTS Aug 5-8. I immediately start working on Freshman Retreat for Sept. 11-12. LifeTeen retreat is the first weekend of October, and through it all, I’ll be working on Women’s ACTS, which is Nov. 11-14. And honestly, about a week after Women’s ACTS, I’m going to have to be working on spring retreat. Whew!

3. The Rangers have been playing really well (not counting tonight – grrr) and that is so exciting! It’s been way too long since we were playing in October.

4. Staying on the topic of sports, College Football is getting closer! Yay!

5. My good friend Amanda gets married tomorrow to Tim. Last week we had her bachelorette party and it was a blast!

6. I’ve been to a couple new restaurants recently. Mellow Mushroom was good, but the one I want to write about is Ancient Ovens. Maybe after ACTS retreat.

7. Please keep me in your prayers. July was a rough month and I need some opportunities to open up for me. I trust everything will be alright, but I could use the prayers!

Read Anything Good Lately?

I’m 4/5 done with the Percy Jackson series (just waiting on book 5, which I am borrowing), and while I have a few books on deck, I’d love some suggestions on what to read after that. Anything strike your fancy recently? Leave a comment.
